The deal between ABAX and China Mobile was signed at the China Mobile IOT event in Shanghai on 16 December 2016.

The deal is intended to aid the telecoms giant’s transformation into a full digital service provider and will see ABAX deliver telematics solutions and technical expertise to support China Mobile in the country’s rapidly developing Internet of Things (IOT) and connected car market.

The deal follows the opening of ABAX’s first office in China earlier in 2016.

Anfinn Hammer Feng, ABAX China Ltd’s chief executive, said: “The Internet of Things market in China is growing and the ABAX technology will play an important role in creating new and high quality solutions for the Chinese market.”

ABAX specialises in technology including Triplog mileage capture and fleet management software. As well as China, ABAX operates in the UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Poland and the Netherlands.

Chris Miller, ABAX UK chief executive, added: “Industries are redesigning their business models and processes around the concept of Internet of Things and this is where ABAX will be partnering with China Mobile Ltd to knowledge share and drive productivity growth. There is huge potential, not only in China but across the world.”
