Alphabet launches carbon offset scheme with First Climate

By / 10 years ago / News / No Comments

The international partnership with First Climate – a global leader in carbon offsetting and water services – provides companies with an effective and hassle-free way of lowering their fleet's carbon impact.

Participating Alphabet customers can choose the project they wish to support from a range of water, wind, solar or other ventures, while First Climate takes care of the entire handling process.

The firm added that the cost is approximately 1% of fuel outgoings.

‘Alphabet customers will have the option of offsetting their emissions through carbon-reduction certificates,’ said Carsten Kwirandt, head of marketing and business development at Alphabet International. ‘Money raised from the sale of certificates will be used to fund carbon-reducing projects throughout the world.’

The move forms part of the firm’s holistic fleet sustainability strategy that also enables customers to run zero-emission EVs on their fleets with its AlphaElectric eMobility solution or use its AlphaCity corporate car sharing scheme. Alphabet also promotes reduced fleet emissions by consulting with customers on car policy or through the provision of eco driver training courses.
