Mentor assesses and scores a driver’s behaviour using a new predictive analytics platform.

Dubbed Mentor, the new smartphone telematics solution measures and scores driving behavior and delivers tailored driver training straight to smartphones, tablets and computers.

The new solution Mentor assesses and scores a driver’s behaviour using a new predictive analytics platform developed by eDriving and predictive analytics specialist FICO to generate a FICO Safe Driving Score. The score is calculated after each trip and over time, providing both immediate feedback as well as longer-term trending and the use of the FICO Safe Driving Score is intended to provide an industry benchmark similar to the FICO score used for consumer credit risk.

The Mentor tool can also be supported by additional feedback, tips and support via virtual live coaching from the licensed instructors at eDriving’s Behind the Wheel Training Division.

Available in the US, the new Mentor solution is also scheduled for global rollout this autumn.

edriving has also announced the formation of an Advisory Board to help guide the evolution of Mentor. Members include the heads of risk engineering and underwriting for some of the world’s largest insurance companies as well as representatives from large multinational corporations with significant numbers of corporate drivers and universities focused on road safety and brain science research related to cognitive distraction.
