Peugeot is to launch an electric version of its Partner Tepee MPV, bringing a range of 170km on the NEDC cycle.

Making its worldwide launch at next month’s Geneva Motor Show and on sale in Europe in September, the five-seater model uses the electric set-up from the Partner Electric van, comprising a 49kW electric motor with two lithium-ion battery packs, with high energy density and a 22.5-kWh capacity, located in the underframe at either side of the rear suspension. This helps ensure that luggage capacity remains among the best in its category, giving 1,350 litres of boot space with five passengers aboard, or 3,000 litres with the rear seats folded. It also offers the option to remove the three seats in the middle row to create a completely flat load area.

The Partner Teepee can receive a standard charge on a traditional domestic outlet (8-A or 10-A, depending on the country) or the secured Green Up charge (14-A), with a full recharge taking eight and a half, 12 or 15 hours depending on outlet amperage.

There’s also a rapid recharge model, available as an option, which can recharge to 80% in 30 minutes.

Features to optimise range include a combined energy consumption/regeneration indicator, an auxiliary consumption gauge (for heat and air-conditioning) that fills out the driver information display and displays remaining range and mean consumption in kWh while a 100% electric-origin heating offers fast heating in the passenger compartment and also features an ‘Eco’ setting.
