Fleet Logistics, which has over 100,000 vehicles under management, announced in April this year that it was appointing UK and international business development director, Stuart Donnelly, as commercial director  responsible for the four Nordic countries, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

Now joining his management team is experienced fleet executive Andreas Sorensen (Left, Inset), who has over 15 years’ experience in the automotive and leasing sector. Sorensen will be based at the Fleet Logistics Nordics head office in Malmo, Sweden, and was previously key account manager with ALD Automotive in Denmark, based in Copenhagen, a role he held for over five years.

Prior to that he worked for LeasePlan Denmark, also for five years, and previously he had a further five years’ experience with Europcar, also based in Copenhagen.

‘We are delighted to appoint someone with Andreas’ experience in the European fleet market and look forward to the knowledge and knowhow he can bring to the business,’ said Donnelly.

Sorensen commenting on his new position, said: ‘I was aware of Fleet Logistics when I was with ALD as we had several clients in common. I am really looking forward to bringing my knowhow of how a leasing company works to get the best deals for our fleet customers.

‘I believe Fleet Logistics has huge potential for growth in the region and that multi-bidding is definitely the way forward for large international clients,’ he added.

Fleet Logistics manages around 6,000 cars on behalf of international corporate customers across the region, a small but growing proportion of its total portfolio, and has plans to double the Nordic fleet within as short a time frame as possible.

To facilitate that growth, the company has now opened its first offices in Helsinki to service and support the Finnish fleet market.

One of the first functions of the new office will be to provide fleet management and support services to the 1,800 strong fleet at telecommunications giant Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN).

Fleet Logistics has worked with NSN in 10 countries across Europe for the last two years, but this is the first time that the NSN fleet in Finland will be part of the fleet management arrangement.

Stuart Donnelly, added: ‘We are delighted to add NSN’s Finnish fleet to our pan European fleet management arrangement, and look forward  to providing them with the levels of first class customer service they have become accustomed to across Europe, from our new offices in Helsinki.

‘We are currently in progressive discussions with a number of large fleets in the region about the benefits of multi-bidding, which has been shown to reduce funding costs by 8-10%, and the opportunities that exist to revise various supply chain arrangements.’

Peter Soliman, Fleet Logistics’ chief executive officer, said: ‘We see considerable growth opportunities within the four main countries of the Nordic region, where there are some large multi-national organisations domiciled in the region.

‘We believe that a new management team, led with energy and determination by Stuart and with new appointments such as Andreas, will have the capability to achieve and deliver on our expansion plans for the region and for the business as a whole.’
