Ford recalls 1.4m vehicles in US

The recall covers around 1.1 million SUVs in the SUVs sold in North America due to a possible loss of power steering. Included a 195,527 Ford Explorer SUVs (2011-2013) and 915,216 Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner SUVs (2008-2011).

There is also a recall for 82,576 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln Zephyr and MKZ sedans (2006-2011) due to floor mat issues and196,639 Ford Taurus sedans (2010-2014) to sort possible corrosion issues.

The announcements follow the recent high-profile recall issues at GM due to a problem with the ignition that has been linked to at least 13 deaths.
