JLR has begun work on a £200m redevelopment of its UK-based design and engineering centre.

The new development will include design centres for both Jaguar and Land Rover and will centralise the brands’ design, product engineering and purchasing functions as well as creating additional capacity for the future in line with the carmaker’s plans for continued global growth.

The move follows Jaguar Land Rover’s recent investment in its UK vehicle manufacturing facilities at Castle Bromwich, Halewood and Solihull to support the introduction of anew vehicles such as the Jaguar XE, XF and F-PACE, Range Rover Evoque Convertible and Land Rover Discovery Sport. Jaguar Land Rover is also constructing a new manufacturing facility in Slovakia and opened a plant in Brazil in 2016.
