Operators can also access maintenance and repair services in the nearby Commercial Vehicle Centre of Lueg AG, with the dealer also saying it’s working with a partner to develop a concept for securing the charging infrastructure at the location, in order to enable electric vehicle usage.

In addition, the Daimler Car2share cargo mobility concept is available on site to offer flexible and smartphone-based rentals in the event of a vehicle breakdown or to cover order peaks.

The concept also see drivers offered on-site parking spaces for their own private vehicles and future plans envisage lounge and food-service areas.

Mercedes-Benz Vans added that the operator concept is part of a Logistics Partner Programme currently being developed in cooperation with dealers that will see special leasing and service terms offered as a service interface between mail-order companies and their carriers.
