Moovel Group expands capabilities under new acquisition

Daimler’s moovel mobility platform subsidiary is bolstering its development team with the acquistion of Familonet GmbH, provider of the Familionet locator app.


Familonet GmbH, provider of the Familionet locator app, has been aquired by moovel.

Moovel – which provides a white-label mobility application for the Karlsruhe transport association KVV in Germay – said the acquisition of the 13-strong team will add to the moovel development team at its Hamburg site with  a further boost from the firm’s geo-fencing technology.

Dr Oliver Wahlen, chief technology officer of moovel Group, said: “The expertise and skills of Familonet are an ideal addition to the moovel development team at the Hamburg site. Both the geo-fencing technology and the team of developers with location expertise are a major win for moovel.”
