Order books have opened for the two most powerful petrol and diesel engines – the 280hp TSI and a 240hp TDI biturbo – both of which come as standard with DSG dual-clutch gearbox and 4Motion all-wheel drive.

Trim levels will cover an entry-level version along with ‘Elegance’ and ‘R-Line’. Equipment on offer includes the latest generation of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) which now operates in line with prevailing speed limits, an Active Info Display with fully digital and programmable instruments, a head-up display and the new Discover Pro infotainment system with a 9.2-inch glass screen and gesture control.

Prices in Germany for the launch model start from €49.325 for the TSI and € 51.600 for the TDI.
