The insurance solution could slash premiums for ZOE by up to 36%.

Offered through Amaline Assurances, the direct insurance division of French insurer Groupama, the solution uses software and data analytics from telematics provider Scope Technologies to provide Renault’s R-Link multimedia system with UBI technology. This will enable direct analysis of driver behaviour from ZOE’s on board computer.

The service is initially available in France, with Renault-Assure planning to extend this service to wider European countries in future.

Cyril Zeller, vice president at Scope Technologies, said: “This alliance brings Amaline customers cheaper more transparent car insurance and provides French drivers with the first ever integrated UBI system.

“This technology is cutting edge but is not limited to just in-built connected car systems so we expect UBI solutions to be rolled out across Europe in the next year.”
