The firm already runs car club schemes across nine cities in France and Belgium, providing drivers with access to Mercedes-Benz A-Class and GLA models through the Virtuo app.

The new scheme in London will initially offer a fleet of 36 A-Class models, located at five sites across the capital (London Victoria, London Waterloo, King’s Cross St Pancras, Marble Arch and Kensington). Vehicles are priced from £35 per day and can be booked, located and unlocked using the app, backed up by a London-based customer service team.

Michael Altom, general manager Virtuo UK & Ireland, said: “The mobility market is changing at an unprecedented rate. After using our service, enjoying the customer support and the seamless experience, our customers won’t go back to traditional car rental companies or even own a car.”
