Jaguar is launching an updated XE with a revised interior and exterior as well as a diesel variant compliant with the stringent RDE2 NOx emissions limit.

The updated exterior brings new front and rear bumpers, all-LED headlights and LED tail-lights. However, it’s on the inside that the biggest changes are seen, with improved comfort, quality and connectivity features. Onboard equipment now includes Jaguar’s Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, already in the I-Pace, married up with two high-resolution touchscreens. Wireless device charging and clever Smart Settings technology also debut.

Other new features include the ClearSight interior rear view mirror, said to be a segment first and designed to improve safety and convenience by ensuring the driver has an unobstructed view of the road behind. Using a wide-angle rear-facing camera, the system feeds images to a high-definition screen within the frameless rear view mirror. A new steering wheel, also taken from the I-Pace, features hidden-until-lit graphics and capacitive switches.

Engine choices have been streamlined and include the 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol from before with 250 and 300hp outputs along with the 180hp Ingenium diesel. The rear-wheel drive version of this is now also RDE2-compliant ahead of the January 2021 deadline.
