UK leasing and fleet management giant Lex Autolease has implemented the moDel solution from Ebbon-Dacs to handle all its new vehicle delivery and used vehicle collection operations.

The company operates a fleet of more than 380,000 company vehicles on behalf of more than 140,000 customers in the UK and is currently rolling out moDel across the 58-strong dealer group network that supplies the bulk of its new vehicles following a successful trial at three dealers.

The solution enables users to automatically upload all electronic vehicle delivery and collection information directly into their back-office systems, or into the Leaselink e-procurement platform, thereby cutting time and errors, and speeding up the time to market.

“It will improve the customer handover experience, accelerate our ability to start new vehicle contracts for corporate customers and allow much faster payments to be made to supplying dealers.

“We expect a smooth transition with the introduction of moDel as many of our supplying dealer groups are already familiar with the solution and the efficiencies that it generates,” he added.

The firm is the latest in a line of major leasing companies to switch to moDel. In the last 12 months, the volume of vehicle transactions going through the moDel solution has risen significantly and it now handles around 18,000 vehicle movements per month.

MoDel has also recently been updated and can now be used on all Android smartphones with screens of five inches or bigger while users can now record and notify areas of damage on vans as well as cars and use an inbuilt camera to record the condition of vehicles being collected and delivered.

The technology is also about to get several other new features to improve its user-friendliness.
