Sixt has augmented its Tech Management team with the creation of two new positions.

Dr Michael Gürtner, CTO at Sixt

The changes – which follow Sixt’s launch of a new app that brings together all of its mobility solutions onto one platform – see Dr Michael Gürtner become responsible for technology strategy and initiatives in the newly created position of CTO.

Dr Gürtner previously worked as CTO at the Bosch start-up SAST (Security and Safety Things) GmbH for three years, where he was responsible for the development of an IoT ecosystem for the security industry.

In addition, e-commerce expert Dr Klaus Kolitz has joined Sixt in the role of head of engineering. He brings more than 20 years of expertise in the field of software development and will lead global software development at the five development centres in Pullach, Rostock, Berlin, Kiev and Bangalore.

Alexander Sixt, board member for organization and strategy, said: “With their many years of experience, Dr Gürtner and Dr Kolitz are expanding and deepening Sixt’s growing IT expertise. We are thus strengthening our tech team with two experienced managers whose teams will help us to push forward into the growth markets of our industry as an increasingly digital mobility service provider.”
