Sixt is expanding its network of taxi partners on its mobility platform as it also explores future services.

The ‘One’ app launched earlier this year, bringing access to rental, car sharing and ride-hailing/taxi products

Earlier this year, the firm united its mobility services under its ‘One’ app, covering rental (Sixt rent), car sharing (Sixt share) and the ride-hailing/taxi (Sixt ride) products while also integrating services from other ride hailing and taxi partners.

SIXT has now announced that it is to collaborate with taxi company Taxi Berlin effective immediately while also adding in taxi services in many major German cities for on-demand trips via SIXT ride.

It means that customers can now book a taxi in the German capital and, as before, in the major cities of Munich, Frankfurt/Main, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Bonn and Hamburg at any time via Sixt ride.

Alexander Sixt, chief CAO of Sixt SE, said: “Our claim in everything we do is as simple as it is complex: we want to meet the mobility needs of our customers in the best possible way. This also applies to their immediate needs for transfer services. The taxi industry in Germany is a strong and reliable partner when it comes to on-demand services – primarily based on its nationwide availability as well as its convenient, reliable and future-orientated solutions. In this cooperation, we see ourselves as a development partner that supports the initiatives of the trade.”
