The two companies have already been working together since mid-2019 to combine their strengths in fleet and mobility consulting, IT development and telematic solutions.

The launch of the new Swiss-based 1st Mobility start-up furthers this work, providing B2B self-service IT software that enables companies to orchestrate their mobility offerings for their employees.

While fleetcompetence will continue to cover the field of international fleet consulting, 1st Mobility will specialise in all mobility topics, supporting clients to develop a comprehensive mobility policy for their employees and to facilitate processes to run such a mobility programme. In this way, it will act as a ‘mobility enabler’.

The launch of 1st Mobility comes as fleets review their mobility options due to the pandemic.

“Already in 2019 we have realised an increasing demand from corporations to design policies and processes for new mobility offerings – going far beyond a company car,” said Thilo von Ulmenstein, managing director, 1st Mobility AG.

“This evolution has turned into a revolution through the changes, related with the pandemic lockdown beginning this year. A multitude of new ideas and concepts have been developed by companies that are completely redefining their business mobility offered to their employees. We want to support these initiatives consistently with our new services.”

Its work is underpinned by the new Mobility Configurator IT platform, which will cover mobility and wider benefit features, such as home-office contributions.

“Companies establishing a ‘New Mobility’ Programme face a significant level of complexity as the mobility needs are different by job role, office location, employee’s personal situation, etc,” said Tobias Kern, managing director of 1st Mobility. “Our Mobility Configurator Solution supports each employee to configurate their individual mobility package within the boundaries of the corporate mobility policy, which can be fully reflected in the tool.”

Michael Deuse, CIO of 1st Mobility, added: “We have succeeded in developing a highly flexible, extremely secure platform designed for sustainability and expandability, which, in addition to high scalability and performance, enables us to react quickly and efficiently to any individual requirements and wishes of our customers.”

By acting as an independent mobility enabler, 1st Mobility stands out from mobility solution providers and the neutral IT solution has been designed to allow clients to stay fully compliant with competition laws.

“It is our objective to enable companies to set-up a customised and modern mobility program for their employees,” said Balz Eggenberger, managing Director of 1st Mobility AG.

This includes offering the platform as white-label product to other mobility solution providers.

“It is our aim to enable more and more companies to switch from the conceptional into the introduction stage of their new mobility programmes in order to keep the momentum of the ‘mobility move’ further accelerating.”
