Styled at Toyota’s ED2 design studio in the South of France and developed by the company’s R&D centre in Brussels, the 2015 model gains a comprehensive facelift that brings it in line with the rest of the range.

Few details have been released but the carmaker said that it will feature a new range of engines that promise both performance and efficiency and it will also deliver innovations in comfort and safety.

The new model will be built by Toyota Manufacturing UK at the Burnaston car plant, near Derby, which has been building the model since 1997.

The 2015 Avensis will be unveiled at the Toyota press conference at Geneva on 3 March.
