First launched in 2019, the T-Cross has racked up 1.2 million sales globally. The updated model, on sale from early 2024, reflects customer feedback and comes with an updated interior and exterior, upgraded standard equipment and new technology features.

Key changes include a revised front-end that introduces new integrated LED headlights – replacing halogen in a first for the model – LED daytime running lights, accompanied by LED taillight clusters and a new bumper at the rear. New colour choices debut too and include Grape Yellow, Clear Blue Metallic and Kings Red Metallic.

The cabin has been upgraded and gets a new free-standing infotainment display with either an 8.0- or a 9.2-inch touchscreen while the dash panel gains plusher materials already seen higher up the VW line-up and carried over to the door trims on higher-spec models. All versions now come with digital instruments as standard, along with a manual air conditioning system. The Air Care Climatronic automatic air conditioner with back-lit touch sliders is available as an option.

Entry models also comes with a multifunction camera and dynamic road sign display while Life versions add in new 16-inch alloy wheels and a leather multifunction steering wheel. The range is topped off by the Style (focused on elegance) and R-Line (with sporty accents) specification packages. Options include a new Travel Assist system that enables semi-automated driving.

Engine line-up is expected to be carried over from the current range of TSI petrol units, which include a 95hp or 115hp 1.0-litre three-cylinder and a 150hp 1.5-litre four-cylinder, with either a six-speed manual as standard or an optional seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Prices will be announced closer to launch but Volkswagen has said the updated T-Cross “will still be offered at a very attractive base price”.
