ALD’s work will look to optimise mobility for fleets.

Run by the NUMA innovation hub in partnership with the City of Paris, the DataCity programme provides corporates and entrepreneurs with a platform to solve the challenges of tomorrow’s cities, with ALD having focused on the mobility of company employees, together with European information technology consultancy Sopra Steria.

In particular this will look at common issues with standardised urban travel plans that do not necessarily optimise employee journeys and present challenges for companies looking to confirm with the Mobility Plan, which will take effect from 1 January 2018 to any company with at least 100 employees on the same site.

Within three months, ALD Automotive will select the most relevant start-up to meet the challenge, with the two firms to then enter an experimental phase and work on a proposal for a company travel plan that can take into account the widest range of mobility solutions. This will involve the analysis of vehicle usage patterns from a large quantity of telematics data.

More details will be announced in February.
