ALD explores plans to acquire SternLease

ALD Automotive has announced that it has entered into exclusive discussions with Stern Group with a view to acquiring SternLease BV while the two parties are also discussing a distribution agreement.

The contemplated transaction would strengthen ALD’s SME and private lease offering in the Netherlands

SternLease BV is the leasing subsidiary of autodealer Stern Groep, and has a fleet of around 12,500 vehicles rented to SMEs and private individuals in the Netherlands and provides leasing services through direct distribution and Stern’s dealers network of 85 local dealerships.

ALD Automotive in the Netherlands currently manages a fleet of c. 50,000 contracts with large corporates, SMEs and private individuals. The contemplated transaction would strengthen ALD’s SME and private lease offering in the Netherlands, positioning the company as the fifth largest player in the market, according to the firm.
