ALD’s Startup Challenge will focus on solutions for urban parking.

The event gives participating startups until 3 April to submit their application, with details of the winning project to be unveiled at the grand finale in June. The winning project – which will be chosen by a jury comprising ALD Automotive’s general management members – will sign a partnership agreement with ALD, including R&D, customer relations and operational support. The project will be tested in one of the 41 countries where ALD Automotive is present.

Run in partnership with Agorize, the Startup Challenge follows last year’s Driver Experience Challenge, which looked at new ways of enhancing the driver experience.

Kent Bjertrup, sales director of ALD Automotive, said: “This Startup Challenge allows us to go even further on the innovations we offer our customers. Urban parking is a problem faced by many drivers. We want to work with startups who offer innovative solutions that reinvent the customer experience in this field in particular.”
