Alfa Romeo has announced trim levels and the launch engine line-up for its forthcoming Stelvio SUV.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

The Stelio is Alfa’s first SUV in more than a century.

Following the unveiling at the LA Auto Show of the ‘first edition’ – which has not yet been confirmed for the UK –  and the range-topping Quadrifoglio that arrives later this year, the brand has announced that the trim line-up, depending on the market, will bring three trim levels – Stelvio, Stelvio Super and the fleet-orientated Stelvio Tecnica – and a launch engine range of a 280hp 2.0-litre Turbocharged petrol or a 210hp 2.2-litre diesel engine, both combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Q4 all-wheel drive.

The petrol offers a 0-100kph time of 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 230ph while figures for the diesel stand at 6.6 seconds and 215kph respectively.

Official fuel and CO2 figures for the petrol stand at 7l/100km combined and 161g/km with 4.8l/100km and 127g/km for the diesel.

Entry-level equipment on the Stelvio trim brings 17-inch alloy wheels, 6.5-inch Alfa Connect 2D Nav, Alfa Rotary selector, 8-speaker audio system, parking sensors, cruise control, electric tailgate and dusk and rain sensors. Safety systems include Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) and pedestrian detection.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Super version builds on this with 18-inch alloy wheels, techno-leather and fabric seats in a choice of three colours, three options for the dashboard and door panels and door sills with steel inserts. An additional Luxury Pack and Sports Pack are also available for the Stelvio Super.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Tecnica is aimed at fleet, corporate and professional customers. Exclusively available with the diesel engine, it features the 6.5-inch Alfa Connect 2D Nav, 35 W B-Xenon headlights with AFS and electric folding mirrors.

Pricing and specification will be confirmed closer to sale start.
