Arval supports fleets’ net zero work with carbon offsets
Arval has teamed up with social business ClimateSeed to support fleets with decarbonisation work on the road to net zero.
The partnership will offer clients the ability to make ‘climate contributions’ and offset emissions through projects to reduce carbon at a company or fleet level, thereby helping with firms’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives.
The project is targeted at businesses moving to low-carbon travel; since 2018, Arval has supported such customers by helping them to set their own Sustainable Mobility and Responsibility Targets (SMaRT).
For customers who find residual CO2 emissions that they can’t eliminate in the short-term, the new partnership gives the ability to buy carbon credits and contribute to carbon reduction projects with strong social and environmental impacts via the ClimateSeed platform.
The project also provides access to ClimateSeed’s internal and external communications kit to help organisations communicate their positive environmental impact.
The tie-up between Arval and ClimateSeed – which are both subsidiaries of French banking group BNP Paribas – is focused on the premise of social business; both organisations said they’re committed to reinvest all profits, either for the benefit of Arval’s clients, through sustainability training programmes and employee awareness initiatives, or towards the creation of new climate contribution programmes.
Shams Dine El Mouden, consulting director at Arval International, said: “In an environment where reliability is key, it is fundamental to offer Arval’s customers the possibility to work with a trusted climate partner to achieve their CSR objectives.”
