Arval publishes white paper outlining current and future advice for fleets on vehicle choices

Intended to help businesses transition to cleaner fleets, the white paper outlines Arval’s view that in the short term, diesel remains essential to environmental requirements, currently accounting for two-thirds of car and light-duty vehicle registrations in corporate fleets in Europe.

The leasing and fleet management giant added that it’s “convinced that in the short term, diesel has a decisive role to play in achieving the CO2 reduction targets, as long as manufacturers make the necessary investments for the production of alternative, affordable vehicles and that public authorities develop the corresponding infrastructures. Petrol engines, but especially hybrids, are also strategic alternatives pending a more general availability of fully electric vehicles. Arval has clearly identified this option as an opportunity to develop, if certain conditions are met.”

Arval is also help its customers make decisions on switching to cleaner vehicles, including a revised method of calculating the TCO, including new driver segments, places and driving habits, while it also continues to focus on mobility alternatives.
