Specifically tailored for B2B customers such as couriers, parcel services and large retailers, the BB-EV range provides a British-designed and -engineered solution said to be ultra-reliable and with a high production output and low cost.

The line-up includes a range of readily interchangeable cargo pods, said to be the first globally standardised in their field and designed to suit individual client needs. Options include cargo pods, flatbed pods and wire cage pods suitable for refuse collection or landscaping businesses.

Payload is up to 250kg and with a 2m3 capacity. The e-cargo bikes also have a range of 50 miles thanks to the 4.62kWh battery and come with hot-swap battery recharging infrastructure (HIVES) included.

Safety and comfort features include a driver cabin safety cell, adjustable ergonomic driver seat with seat belt, lights, four surround proximity detectors, rear reversing camera and a large LCD visual display screen.

BB-EV also promises the lowest cost per mile of any current commercial grade cargo-EV.

Paul Farrell, founder of BB-EV, said: “The race to achieve net-zero cargo emissions across the global transport and logistics sector has never been so urgent.

“After extensive discussions with global commercial B2B fleet logistics operators, we believe BB-EV represents a total last-mile delivery solution ‘system’ that meets the real-world needs of many operators and complements their existing infrastructure.”

The BB-EV has been developed by British engineers with aerospace and automotive experience following extensive discussions with current users of commercial e-cargo bikes, talking to both the management and their mechanics to better understand their requirements from commercial and maintenance standpoints.

BB-EV says its e-cargo bikes have been manufactured with advanced production methods and designed to facilitate modular repairs, where elements can be easily replaced when needed quickly and efficiently, allowing the bike to be promptly returned to service.

The bikes are also fully end-of-life recyclable and feature components that are ISO, UL compliant and certified.

BB-EV is also collaborating with Stihl, a global specialist in professional tools and equipment, for the product’s official launch.

Simon Hewitt, head of marketing at Stihl GB, said: “BB-EV’s cutting-edge design aligns perfectly with our commitment to efficiency and battery-powered technology, and we believe this partnership is the first step to setting new standards for urban landscaping.”

Paul Farrell concluded: “We are thrilled to bring BB-EV e-cargo bikes to the market. We believe our innovative, eco-friendly solutions are set to transform last-mile delivery, providing businesses with a reliable, efficient and sustainable option.”
