BMW AG's China subsidiary records 43% full-year profit increase
The company's net income rose to 1.81b yuan (£177,954,000*) in 2011, with many European automakers relying heavily on their far-east subsidiaries to boost total sales figures in the coming year, as demand for luxury cars in Europe is expected to stagnate.
Brillance currently produces the BMW 3 and 5 series sedan at their manufacturing plant in Shenyang, northeast China, and will add the X1 SUV and new 3-series to the line-up later this year.
With a total annual vehicle capacity of 100,000 towards the end of 2011, Brilliance produce 43% of BMW AG's luxury cars in China.
