Business Lease Nederland BV commits to tighter targets under Cleaner Car Contracts

The Cleaner Car Contracts coalition – a group of more than 60 companies and six European environmental organisations that have signed up to ambitious fuel-efficiency and CO2-emission goals – has maintained its average standard for 2015 of 113g CO2/km. This compares to the European Union target of 120g CO2/km by the same date.

With Business Lease Nederlands, part of the Business Lease Group, having already met this goal of 120g/km for its fleet, the organisation will now focus on the new target of 113g CO2/km.

Dick Cozijnsen, commercial director Business Lease Nederlands, said: ‘The leasing sector is ahead of the policy from European politics. This is a crucial incentive to accelerate fuel-efficient cars on the market. With the new bar at maximum 113g CO2/km by car, we opt for the gold version of the contract, which we naturally strive for the highest possible result.’

Business Lease Nederlands was one of the first leasing companies that joined the International Cleaner Car Contracts project, which was initiated by the Foundation for Nature and Environment.

'Mobility should be sustainable, we must continue to strengthen our goals. Therefore we are proud that we are affiliated with the Cleaner Car Contracts coalition,’ said Mr Cozijnsen.
