A team of “old geezers” that includes the co-founder of Bynx have raised almost £10,000 for Parkinson’s charities through an epic bike ride.

The brothers, joined by tour manager Ian, have raised almost £10,000 for Parkinson’s research

Mark Binks, who helped establish fleet and mobility management software platform Bynx over 30 years ago, was joined by brothers Ian and Steve, who now lives in Melbourne, Australia, to battle across more than a thousand miles (some 1,600km) to raise money for Parkinson’s UK and Fight Parkinson’s in Australia.

The B’LEJoG – Binks’s Land’s End to John O’Groats – challenge saw the trio set off from Cornwall on 18 May and arrive in Scotland on 2 June 2024. Along the way, they encountered many challenges and numerous highlights and lowlights (see here).

The cycle challenge has already raised thousands of pounds for the Parkinson’s charities in line with the brothers’ focus to help the search for a cure as both of their parents lived with the disease.

Full details of their marathon journey, route taken and blogs are online here.

The Just Giving pages are still open for anyone wishing to donate and are online at Just Giving UK and Just Giving Australia.
