ChargeGuru brings fully funded EV charging for apartment blocks to UK

ChargeGuru has started to roll out its fully funded apartment block solution across the UK, helping advance EV infrastructure.

The solution aims to accelerate the availability of EV charging infrastructure for people living in apartment blocks, helping to ensure they’re not reliant on public charging. This creates a more level playing field compared to EV users with private driveways.

The launch follows ChargeGuru’s arrival in the UK in March 2023 and will expand upon the 16,000-plus buildings across Europe that already use ChargeGuru’s fully funded solution.

ChargeGuru has partnered with The Property Institute (TPI), a specialist in the property management profession, to simplify access to EV charging for its members and drive education and awareness of the availability of EV charging infrastructure within the property management industry. Landlords and managers of apartment blocks are a key target.

Denis Watling, managing director at ChargeGuru UK, said: “Our unique solution enables the sector to offer their residents true ‘at-home’ charging, at zero upfront cost to building owners and managers.

“By joining forces with TPI, we’re enabling its members to future-proof the buildings in their portfolio through the delivery of EV charging infrastructure at scale, with zero cost or admin burden.”

TPI’s training sessions and events will provide platforms for ChargeGuru to engage with property managers and landlords, showcasing the benefits of its solution and advocating sustainable transportation solutions.

“Our strategy for the UK market revolves around enabling property managers & landlords to address the growing demand for EV charging infrastructure in residential apartment buildings,” added Watling.

“By offering our funded solution throughout the entirety of the UK and activating partnerships with the TPI member base, we are helping to facilitate widespread adoption of EVs and ensure that UK apartment buildings are fully equipped and future-proofed with reliable and scalable EV charging solutions, ultimately aiding the transition to an electric future.”

Malcolm Perryman, chief commercial officer at TPI, also commented: “We are excited to partner with ChargeGuru UK to help our members simplify access to EV charging for their residents. We aim to help empower property managers and residents of apartment buildings with the knowledge and resources needed to navigate the transition towards an electric future.”
