Citroën has uncovered its facelifted C4 hatchback and C4 X saloon at the Paris Motor Show.

The updated C4 hatchback and C4 X saloon arrive early 2025

On sale from early 2025, the upgraded third-generation models deliver bolder looks, latest onboard technology and an enhanced powertrain line-up.

Styling draws on the new C3 and C3 Aircross, revamping the front-end on both the C4 and C4 X in line with the brand’s new identify. The C4 rear-end gets a more streamlined look and gains the Colour Clips inserts from the C3. Rear styling for the C4 X remains as before.

New colour choices join the range along with new wheels while the two-tone option with black roof remains available.

Exterior changes are accompanied by a boost in interior comfort, with the adoption of redesigned Citroën Advanced Comfort seats and a new 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster to complement the 10.0-inch multimedia touchscreen, which gets 3D navigation and latest-generation infotainment system. The interface also features natural voice recognition and a digital assistant that can be activated with the “Hello Citroën” command. ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, is available via the ‘Connect Plus’ Pack and is directly integrated into the infotainment system with the help of SoundHound’s voice and audio recognition system.

Both cars also feature Citroën Advanced Comfort suspension and almost 20 driving assistance technologies. These include Active Safety Brake, Collision Risk Alert, Highway Driver Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go.

In addition, the new C4 and C4 X also offer blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, coffee break alert, driver attention alert, automatic high beam, extended speed sign recognition and speed recommendations.

As before, the C4 delivers a 380-litre boot with maximum volume of 1,250 litres with the rear seat folded down, while the C4 X has 520 litres.

Model line-up carries over the existing electric powertrains in the ë-C4 and ë-C4 X, which deliver a 50kWh battery and 136hp motor or a 54kWh battery and 156hp motor for around 355km (220 miles) and 415km (257 miles) for the C4, and 360km (223 miles) and 425km (264 miles) for the C4 X. Both can recharge using 100kW DC rapid chargers, recovering 80% of its charge in less than 30 minutes.

Vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology enabling the battery to power devices will be available as an option from the first half of 2025.

The line-up will also include new Hybrid 100 and 136 models which feature a turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with mild hybrid assistance and deliver 100hp and 136hp respectively. A non-electrified 1.2-litre PureTech 130 EAT8 with an eight-speed automatic gearbox will also be available in designated markets.

Prices and full specification details will be revealed closer to launch.
