The new units will be made available in the C3, DS3 and C-Elysée in 68PS 1.0-litre and 82PS 1.2-litre guises.

Depending on the model and the tyres fitted, the PureTech engines will offer a combined cycle fuel consumption between 4.3 l/100 km and 4.6 l/100 km with CO2 emissions ranging from 99 to 107g/km.

The launch of the engines in the UK has already kicked off with the arrival of the 1.2 82PS PureTech unit for the C3 and DS3. This engine replace the previous 1.4-litre unit and offers an 8PS improvement in power, with fuel economy improved by up to 25% to 4.5 l/100km  and CO2 emissions 35g/km lower at 104g/km.

The 1.0-litre 60PS VTI 68 will arrive in the C3 next year, replacing the 1.1-litre and delivering an 8PS improvement in power, with fuel consumption improved 17.8mpg to 4.3 l/100 km and CO2 emissions down 38g/km at 99g/km.

The new PureTech engines deliver their improvements through a range of changes, including downsizing, three-cylinder construction, reduced weight and more compact design, reduced internal friction and optimised combustion.
