Cox Automotive has launched a new global mobility division that integrates “world-class, game-changing solutions” to support global fleets, businesses and drivers.

Paul Humphreys has been appointed to managing director of mobility, Cox Automotive International

Dubbed Cox Automotive Mobility, the new division brings together data, insights and expertise from around the world to deliver targeted mobility support throughout the US, UK, Continental Europe, Canada and Mexico.

It builds on strategic Cox Automotive investments over the last year, including Spiers New Technologies – a leading service provider for EV battery lifecycle management – and specialist cloud-based workflow technology business, FleetMaster.

Designed to service OEMs, automotive dealers, mobility and fleet providers, Cox Automotive Mobility encompasses four business solution areas – Fleet Services, Fleet Operations, EV Battery Solutions and Emerging Ventures.

The business said that changes in vehicle ownership and usership are driving new business models, including short-term rental, vehicle-as-a-service and vehicle subscription. Bolstered by FleetMaster capabilities, the Cox Automotive Mobility platform enables fleet and mobility owners and operators to adapt to meet changing requirements.

Martin Forbes, president of Cox Automotive International, said Cox Automotive can offer unrivalled expertise and solutions for fleet mobility

The international team for Cox Automotive Mobility will work closely with the team in the US, led by mobility president Joe George, and is being headed up by Paul Humphreys, newly appointed managing director of mobility at Cox Automotive International.

Humphreys commented: “More consumers are choosing to use vehicles as and when they need them as opposed to owning them outright. The definition of ownership is being redefined, enabled by ever-evolving finance and lease models. Through Cox Automotive Mobility, we are empowering our customers and partners in the UK and Europe to take advantage of the opportunities the mobility landscape has to offer.”

He reports into Martin Forbes, president of Cox Automotive International, who said: “Mobility offers a huge growth opportunity for us across all our international markets. Cox Automotive is at the forefront of technology in this area and can offer unrivalled expertise and solutions to both customers and prospects alike.”
