Eastern European Fleet Markets show wide discrepancies in January

In the first two countries the new car registrations on fleet customers increased compared to January 2014 and achieved better results than the Private Market. In Slovakia however the start was difficult both for the Private Market and the True Fleet Market.

In the Czech Republic, Skoda dominated its home fleet market with a share of 38%. The brand is leading the model ranking with Octavia, Rapid and Superb followed by the Volkswagen Golf and two more Skoda models (Citigo & Yeti). Due to the model change registrations on the Skoda Fabia are currently below the level of 2014 (where the Fabia was number three in the fleet market) but will probably recover soon. The biggest improvement compared to 2014 was achieved by Dacia jumping on fourth position rising by almost 140%. Renault, Mercedes, Volvo and Opel were able to boost their registrations significantly as well.

Within Poland, Skoda was the strongest fleet brand too. The most impressive growth rates within the Top-10 brands by volume were achieved by Nissan (#9, + 106.2%), Toyota (#2, + 72.8%) and Kia (#6, + 36.0%). In contrast to the Czech Republic the model ranking is very mixed with five different brands within the Top-6: Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus, Skoda Fabia, Toyota Auris Touring Sports and Opel Astra.

For Slovakia, despite the fleet market decrease of almost 27%, some market players could improve their figures, says Dataforce. Hyundai (number four behind Skoda, Volkswagen and Kia) grew by 5.4%, BMW on rank number eight achieved a growth rate of 6.4%. Dacia and Nissan were successful as well and both entered the Top-10.The SUV segment was really strong in January. Its share of 27% of all fleet registrations was the second highest within Europe and only topped in Norway. The Top-3 SUV models were Kia Sportage, BMW X5 and Nissan Qashqai.
