Enterprise Rent-A-Car expands into Iceland
The latest agreement follows the news earlier this month that the car hire specialist has opened operations in the new markets of Belgium, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Bosnia Herzegovina and Macedonia as part of its phased expansion programme. The firm also said that it would become operational in additional countries throughout Europe in the coming months.
In the latest deal, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car brand will appear at airport and city locations in Iceland during the coming months.
Established over 45 years ago, Reykjavik Excursions is one of the largest travel and tour operating companies in Iceland. The company launched its car rental business in 2013 and has a growing fleet of vehicles. Reykjavik Excursions also operates the main shuttle bus service between Reykjavik and Keflavik International Airport.
Peter Smith, vice-president of global franchising at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, said: ‘Iceland continues to grow as a travel destination. It is important to our service culture that Enterprise customers from all over the world can also rent from us whenever they travel there. Reykjavik Excursions is a long-standing entrepreneurial business that shares our belief that customer care is key to growing a great business. We look forward to building a strong partnership which will enable us to prosper together, serving the increasing number of people who want to rent from Enterprise when they travel to new locations.’
The Enterprise brand currently operates in Austria, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and the UK.
