Fiat to revive Tipo name for new C-segment model
Based on the Aegea sedan shown in May at the Istanbul Motor Show, the vehicle launches from the end of this year across EMEA regions before appearing in hatchback and estate bodystyles.
The model will carry the Tipo name from the original model launched in 1988, apart from in Turkey where the project name of Aegea will be retained.
The model forms part of the Fiat functional family of vehicles and will have a focus on maximising value. As revealed by Fleet World earlier this year, it will also play a key role in the fleet sector.
In Europe, the sedan will be offered in two Multijet II turbo diesel engines alongside two petrol units, with manual or automatic transmission and power ratings from 95hp to 120hp.
