First images of new Skoda Kodiaq seven-seater SUV
The new model draws on the Vision S Concept SUV shown at Geneva this year and brings a prominent front grille, narrow LED headlights along with an angular rear profile and C-shaped LED rear lights.
Features include boot space ranging from 720 to 2,065 litres with the rear seats folded down), offering the largest boot within its class, while the layout will offer a variety of seating and loading solutions. With the front passenger seat down, the car can transport items up to 2.9 metres long.
Full model details have not been announced yet but Skoda has announced the model will bring a number of driver assistance systems, including Area View, which uses surround-view cameras with wide-angle lenses at the front and the rear as well as in the wing mirrors, to display various views of the car’s immediate surroundings on the in-car monitor. These include a virtual top-down view and 180-degree pictures from the areas to the front and rear.
Also new to the range is Tow Assist, which takes over steering when reversing slowly while towing. Additionally, while reversing, the new Manoeuvre Assist will brake as soon as an obstacle is detected behind the vehicle.
Other new features include the Skoda Connect mobile online services, which offer Infotainment Online services with information and navigation in real time and Care Connect services with remote access as well as assistance, including e-Call, which automatically connects to an emergency call centre if the airbag is activated.
