Fisker showcases future EV models at first-ever Product Vision Day

American EV start-up Fisker has showcased its vision for a sustainable all-electric vehicle line-up by 2026 at its first-ever Product Vision Day.

The California-based carmaker presented four vehicles, as well as technology and sustainability visions, to an audience of investors, analysts, employees and media.

Headline news was the launch of the Pear, billed as a sustainable city EV and expected to launch mid-2025, priced at $29,900 in the US and with an anticipated sub-£28k price tag in the UK.

Designed to be “the future of clean and affordable mobility for a global mass market”, it’s built on Fisker’s SLV-1 platform using the carmaker’s Steel++ development process, said to result in the use of 35% fewer parts than other EVs in class.

It also embodies Fisker’s vision of a sustainable EV as a connected mobility device and is the first implementation of the brand’s Blade central computing platform.

Despite its compact design, it’s said to feature room for a spacious and modular interior with seating for up to six. It also comes with a ‘Houdini Trunk’ where the tailgate disappears into the rear bumper.

Its futuristic design includes an ultra-wide wraparound windscreen, sculptural exterior design, and slim LED lighting.

Other vehicles revealed included the Fisker Ronin, said to be the world’s first all-electric four-door convertible GT sports car. It has a targeted 600-plus mile range while its triple-motor all-wheel drive powertrain is projected to deliver 1,000+hp and 0-60mph in around 2.0 seconds. The Ronin will be “ultra-luxury priced” and built in limited quantities.

The event also showcased the Alaska, Fisker’s all-electric four-door pickup truck designed to be versatile, advanced and powerful. Built on an extended adaptation of the FT31 used for Fisker’s existing Ocean SUVs, it’s designed for both sporty performance and practicality.

The Alaska is built for multiple cargo configurations, including a cargo bed extendable from 4.5 feet to 7.5 feet to 9.2 feet, while a ‘Houdini bed divider’ hides away to connect cargo bed and rear cabin. The Alaska has a projected range of 230-340 miles and is expected to start deliveries in 2025, priced from $45,400 (around £35,570) before incentives in the US.

Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker also revealed the Force-E offroad package for the Ocean SUV, designed to maximise torque, power and best-in-class range. It includes 20-inch wheels, higher ground clearance, specialised dampers, roof basket, front and rear skid plates, and an underbody plate for greater durability. It’s scheduled to be available in Q1 2024, with pricing yet to be announced.

Commenting on the new arrivals, Henrik Fisker said: “Fisker isn’t standing still. We want the world to know that we have big plans and intend to move into several different segments, redefining each with our unique blend of design, innovation, and sustainability.”
