The world’s first certified flying car could soon take to the skies in China following a new manufacturing deal.

KleinVision, the Slovakia-based developer of the AirCar, has struck a deal with Hebei Jianxin Flying Car Technology Company, giving the Chinese company exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute certified flying cars using its technology within a specific geographical region.

The firms said the deal, finalised for an undisclosed amount, marked a strategic move in the advancement of innovative mobility solutions and would accelerate progress towards mass-market flying car manufacturing.

“We are pleased to announce the sale of the license for our certified flying car technology to the esteemed Chinese company,” stated Stefan Klein, chairman at KleinVision.

The Jianxin Group said the technology would redefine transportation standards in China.

“This partnership represents a significant step in our mission to expand global access to revolutionary mobility solutions and drive progress in the industry,” commented Anton Zajac, co-founder at KleinVision.

The AirCar is powered by a 1.6-litre BMW engine and conventional fuel, and can fly at up to 8,200ft and cruise in the skies at 118mph. It’s featured in videos by YouTuber Mr Beast and by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May in The Grand Tour.
