Ford in Britain chairman moves to global role

Tim Slatter, who has been chair of Ford in Britain since January 2022, has shifted to a new global product development role for the Ford Blue combustion and hybrid vehicle business.

Slatter now becomes head of vehicle programmes for the Ford Blue combustion and hybrid vehicle business

He assumes the position of head of vehicle programmes, previously led by Trevor Worthington who has retired.

The role includes management of all Ford Blue global vehicle programmes, encompassing derivatives and Ford Performance products.

Slatter will also be involved in strategy and cycle planning for Ford Blue, Ford Performance and Ford Motorsports.

He will continue to steer UK operations until a successor is in place and his relocation to Ford world HQ in Dearborn, Michigan is complete.

Slatter is a 25-year Ford veteran and was previously vehicle line director for vans and buses in the Ford Pro commercial vehicle business at Dunton Campus, in Essex.

Prior to that, he held a number of senior posts in Ford Motor Company China including executive director and vice president for product development at Jiangling Motors Corporation, Ford’s joint venture in China. He also covered various leadership roles in powertrain development and engineering.
