Ford reveals refreshed EcoSport
Ford’s EcoSport baby SUV has been given a further facelift, introducing intelligent all-wheel drive and a new diesel engine as well as revised exterior and interior styling and enhanced connectivity technology.
The facelifted Ford EcoSport brings new engines and styling.
Making its debut at Frankfurt, the latest iteration of the Fiesta-based crossover gets a new 124bhp 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel engine from mid-2018, married up with Ford Intelligent All Wheel Drive and a six-speed manual gearbox, and delivering an official 63mpg combined consumption with 119g/km of CO2.
However, from launch the engine line-up will cover Ford’s 99bhp 1.5-litre TDCi diesel combined with front-wheel drive and all-new six-speed manual gearbox along with the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol in 138bhp and 123bhp formats – a new 99bhp version of the EcoBoost also joins in mid-2018.
The updated EcoSport will also debut a ST-Line version for the first time, bringing body kit including Ford Performance-inspired bumpers and side skirts and 17-inch alloy wheels, ST-Line badging and extended painted roof and door mirrors as standard.
Updated equipment includes an 8-inch colour touchscreen, providing access to Ford’s SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system, a new B&O PLAY sound system, plus cruise control with adjustable speed limiter and a rear view camera. For more of the latest industry news, click here.
