Ford Telematics gets multi-make functionality

Ford has updated its telematics tool to enable its use by all operators, regardless of their make of vehicles.

The new multi-make functionality allows operators with vehicles from multiple manufacturers to integrate their entire fleet into the Ford Telematics system

The new multi-make functionality, part of the regular subscription, is a significant enhancement for fleets as it means operators with vehicles from multiple manufacturers can integrate their entire fleet into the Ford Telematics system, enabling fleet-wide insights and optimisation.

The update comes as Ford also enhances its telematics tool with a new Drive app, which enables drivers to share information quickly and easily with fleet managers; from details on which vehicle is being driven, to information on daily vehicle checks and reporting damage or mechanical issues. The app is included as part of a Ford Telematics subscription, is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, and is compatible with devices running Android or iOS.

“We know that many of our customers operate multi-make fleets, but also want to use Ford Telematics’ advanced capabilities,” said Dave Phatak, director, Ford Commercial Solutions Europe. “Our enhanced platform provides exciting new tools to boost productivity for our customers, not only delivering multi-make capability, but also a companion app that will bring new efficiencies to their fleet operations.”

Latest updates to Ford Telematics also include a redesigned dashboard that tracks and displays vehicle performance and health alerts, as well as driver behaviour and fuel efficiency.

Ford is offering its telematics tool, including the new multi-make functionality and Ford Telematics Drive, on a free trial to new users until 30 December 2020.
