Genesis Electrified GV70 SUV gets new-look exterior and 27-inch OLED display
Genesis has refreshed its Electrified GV70 fully electric SUV with latest equipment and design upgrades in a mid-life refresh.
The BMW iX3 rival went on sale in Europe two years ago, joining the Electrified G80 and GV60 as the brand’s third EV, and the updated version boosts its appeal with plusher looks and extra kit.
At the front, the all-electric version of the GV70 gets the latest variant of the Crest Grille and a revised bumper design while the brand’s ‘Two-Line’ headlights now incorporate micro lens array (MLA) technology, improving lighting performance.
The rear indicators have been relocated from the bumpers to the combination lights and also now tie in with the Two Lines concept at the front.
The stop lamp on the rear spoiler has been redesigned and now integrates the module for the digital centre mirror (DCM) and a built-in camera.
Other new exterior features include new 20-inch wheels in a matte dark grey shade, revised 19-inch wheels and the arrival of a Ceres Blue exterior colour option.
The interior now comes with a 27-inch OLED widescreen display that integrates the driving and infotainment systems.
Ambient lighting has been enhanced with a new Milky Way Pattern Mood Lighting and there’s a new monotone steering wheel featuring stitching, plus a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system with aluminium speaker covers.
Three interior colours are up for grabs, including a newly introduced Icy Blue/Glacier White Two-Tone option.
Genesis hasn’t announced any powertrain changes and the all-wheel-drive, dual-motor set-up is expected to carry over, delivering 490hp of power, a 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds and adaptable Drive and e-Terrain modes.
The 77.4kWh battery in the current model has a WLTP combined range of up to 283 miles and the Electrified GV70 can be recharged at up to 350kW, where possible.
Sales of the redesigned Electrified GV70 will start in Korea in the first quarter of 2025, and Europe and other markets are expected to follow in the summer. More detailed model specifications and prices will be announced in the run-up to the launch.
