Genesis takes wraps off Hybrid Sports Sedan Concept at New York Motor Show
The model gives an insight into the brand’s design direction, which it says is centred on “driver-focused luxury”. Features include a full leather interior with four individual seats and a centre console that splits the interior into two separate halves.
Technologies include a 21-inch floating, curved screen for the driver instruments and multimedia functions with a 3D gesture-control sensor plus a Human Machine Interface (HMI) concept that enables single and multi-touch finger swipes as well as handwriting recognition and circular finger movements.
Under the bonnet, there’s a 242bhp 2.0-litre GDi petrol engine coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. No details of the hybrid powertrain have been announced.
Manfred Fitzgerald, head of Genesis, said: “The New York Concept is a progressive concept car that showcases the design quality of the brand. With its expressive volumes and refined design, the New York Concept truly embodies the ‘Athletic Elegance,’ that characterises Genesis products and will continue to do so for future models that come from our luxury brand. Revealing the concept in New York is a fitting opportunity for Genesis.”
