Geotab has joined the Data for Road Safety traffic information initiative to support work towards a ‘zero-fatality future’.

Geotab says technology and data-derived insights have a major part to play in reducing – and even eliminating – road deaths in the next few years

Data for Road Safety (DFRS) has established a Safety-Related Traffic Information (SRTI) ecosystem to warn drivers about dangerous driving conditions.

The information can be shared and used by industry partners such as OEMs, service providers and road authorities to help make our roads safer through better-informed decisions by drivers.

Geotab’s involvement will help improve driver behaviour, fundamentally supporting the work by the initiative. The firm’s IoT and connected car technology delivers global insights derived from 2.5 million vehicles and 40 billion data points daily, and its real-time analytics provides invaluable road safety information for a zero-fatality future.
