Honda has confirmed that its forthcoming compact SUV will be named the ZR-V and arrive next year.

It’s one of a number of new additions to its European line-up announced in March this year and will sit between the HR-V and the forthcoming CR-V.

Part of plans to electrify its line-up, the ZR-V will get the brand’s e:HEV full hybrid powertrain, further expanding Honda’s range of electrified options to customers.

It’s already been previewed in images, showing its lifestyle focus.

The arrival of the ZR-V spearheads the next stage of Honda’s European electrification strategy, which saw the carmaker also reveal its hybrid-only Civic, which arrives this autumn.

Further additions to Honda’s electrified SUV line-up include an all-electric B-segment SUV, previewed as the e:Ny1 Prototype, and the all-new CR-V, which will be available with both full hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain options for the first time in Europe, as the brand says its will concentrate further on the segment.
