Honda unveils European Jazz prototype
The prototype provides a sneak preview of the third-generation model due next summer, which is based on the company’s new global compact platform. It will retain the centre fuel tank layout that is already found in the current model, as well as the Civic and recently-announced HR-V helping to maximise space.
This will be further enhanced by increased dimensions – the new Jazz will be 15mm longer with a 30mm longer wheelbase, benefiting cabin space.
The space-saving layout will also be enhanced with practical storage solutions and the Honda Magic Seats seen in other models.
The new European Jazz will also offer improved fuel economy and higher performance in the form of a new 1.3-litre i-VTEC petrol engine Earth Dreams Technology engine, which comes with either a six-speed manual (replacing the previous five-speed unit) or a CVT transmission.
The model also gains a new suspension set-up designed to deliver a more refined and comfortable ride.
The Jazz prototype makes its debut during Honda’s press conference at the Paris Motor Show on Thursday 2nd October.
