The carmaker is targeting a 2,6% share of the corporate fleet sector in 2014, up from 2,2% in 2013. Based at the company's European headquarters in Offenbach, Germany, Mr Porter will oversee the implementation of qualitative enhancements needed to achieve this goal, as well as the ongoing introduction of dedicated Fleet Business Centres and a sustained drive to grow both used car volumes and values via the company's vehicle remarketing programme.

Mr Porter joins Hyundai with an extensive knowledge of the European fleet and used-vehicle markets, having previously held positions at Automotive Resources International (ARI), Daimler AG, Honda and Ford. He will report to Thomas Schmid, vice president of sales & fleet.

Mr Schmid commented: ‘Hyundai's primary aim for 2014 is to continue enhancing the quality of its operations in Europe. Sustainable growth in the fleet business is a core part of our business strategy, and Adrian will direct a number of qualitative improvements to our fleet operations.’

Adrian Porter added: ‘This is a great opportunity and I'm delighted to join Hyundai Motor Europe in this newly created role. We're aiming to raise the profile of the Hyundai brand in the international fleet market, competing head-to-head with major players in the industry.’
