Jato launches new used car data solution for fleet and leasecos

Jato Dynamics has debuted a new solution to meet growing demand for accurate, detailed used vehicle information.

VINView Pro advances Jato’s existing VINView offering by supplying build specification for individual vehicles

Designed to solve problems commonly faced by fleets, leasing firms and dealers, VINView Pro advances Jato’s existing VINView offering by supplying build specification for individual vehicles, compared to the standard specification information previously available. This discloses all fitted specification and options a car benefits from, plus its full standard specification items and pricing.

The system has been developed in partnership with the automotive intelligence experts at AutoGrab, who contributed their research and development capabilities and depth of knowledge in machine learning and AI systems to the project.

Incomplete vehicle data can lead to inconsistent residual values in remarketing and lost sales, but VINView Pro is designed to remove these issues by providing exact factory-fitted options and original pricing information, showing precisely how a particular vehicle was made, plus its complete and accurate build sheet. And because it’s capable of being API-integrated, businesses can access this data instantly via existing workflows.

For firms involved in remarketing, it delivers comprehensive data to improve their operations while also assisting customers looking for vehicles with special features.

It’s also said to mitigate risks for insurers and fleet managers. Insurers can make assessments based on the exact build configuration of a car, leading to more accurate risk management and underwriting.

Paul Hilton, head of retail at Jato Dynamics, said: ‘‘We know from regular enquiries we receive that there is huge demand for accurate build specification for vehicles. To express it simply, we are obtaining complex factory data from OEMs, and putting it into more everyday language that businesses can use when sourcing or supplying vehicles.’’

Users can access the system in two ways – either through Jato’s existing Sales Link platform or an API. Entering VIN numbers or individual registration plates triggers the supply of the relevant facts and figures for each vehicle.

The API accessibility option is likely to prove popular with larger dealer groups, fleet and leasing companies and auction houses.

Hilton explained: ‘‘The API sits outside of Sales Link – it’s a commercial-level data plug-in suitable for larger companies who may have hundreds or thousands of cars in their systems. By providing two distinct ways to access our data, we are endeavouring to meet the needs of as many people as possible.”

He added: ‘‘We’re confident VINView PRO will be successful. We know the demand is there and of course Jato has 40 years of experience in the fields of automotive data, analysis and intelligence. Our aim is to improve accuracy, transparency and confidence in the used car space and we’re certain VINView Pro will achieve our objective.’’

Chris Gardner, founder and CEO of AutoGrab, said: “‘With Jato and AutoGrab working together, our customers have already begun to see the impact of the increased data and insights on vehicles flowing through our platform. VINView Pro is all about taking things to the next level and it is sure to be a game-changer for the automotive industry right across the globe.’’
