Leasys on track for 2026 electric vehicle target
Leasys has published new figures showing it’s on track with its commitment to sustainable mobility in Europe.
The multi-brand operational leasing business, a joint venture between Stellantis and Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance, currently has a European fleet of 850,000 vehicles, of which 30% are battery electric vehicles (BEVs) or hybrids.
The figure, released following the successful consolidation of Leasys and Free2Move Lease’s business in April, puts Leasys on track to reach its 2026 target, where one out of every two contracts will be for a “green” vehicle.
In the first nine months of 2023, the business achieved a significant milestone on its journey toward sustainable mobility in Europe. Over this period, more than 169,000 new contracts were registered, 16% of which were electric vehicles, comprising 9% BEVs and 7% plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
Alongside the switch to EVs, the business said its transition towards a more sustainable mobility future also encompasses a collaborative effort among diverse stakeholders from industry, institutions and services, “along with fostering a shift in our collective environmental consciousness”.
A spokesperson added: “In pursuit of accelerating the electric transition, Leasys continuously expands its portfolio of zero-emission mobility solutions. Our flexible offerings and innovative services are designed to facilitate and incentivise electric mobility adoption.
“In our commitment to sustainable mobility, Leasys is not just changing the way we move; we’re transforming the way we think about the environment and our role in protecting it.”
